For Rand… How About This?

Just sayin…

Kagan Is The Face Of American Totalitarianism

Please watch the following video and tell me that what she says is not the scariest thing you’ve heard from a potential Supreme Court nominee?

This woman should be nowhere near the Supreme Court. This non answer shows how extreme she really is. How can she sit there and not say that such a law would be unconstitutional? If the republicans had any nuts, which they don’t, they would filibuster this nominee until November. I won’t hold my breath waiting though.

Use The Laws You Already Have

So there’s obviously a problem in the Gulf. Neither the government nor BP has exactly showered themselves in competence. The governments job was to think of these problems ahead of time and ask all drilling companies how they would fix the issue. Obviously the government did not do its job. Hey, it’s the government, when have they ever been competent at doing anything? As for BP, they too are being idiots on this. In their case, they are getting punished in the market. That’s how it’s supposed to be. If they actually get this thing under control, they may recover. If not, hello bankruptcy court.

And how are the government agencies being punished for their incompetence?

“This is one of those 9/11 opportunities where you can rally the country to move in a different direction,” said Lisa Margonelli, energy director of the center-left New America Foundation in Oakland.

Ahh yes that’s the ticket. Instead of reviewing what went wrong, lets push for more government action. Let’s see. The existing government agencies are incompetent. So let’s create more government agencies. How do these morons live every day? Seriously. We see case after case of government incompetence and yet their first thought is, lets have more government.

Doubling down on incompetency is not going to make things better. You have the tools available right now. Killing the economy for your own pet peeves like cap and trade is not going to fix this oil spill. Stop using a crisis, which you created, to go ahead and continue on your radical remake of America. If you had actually shown that any of your government answers worked, you may have a case. Instead, day after day we see that old truism, government is not the solution, government is the problem. That you can’t see that shows your blindness to the real world.

The Islamic Terrorists Have Finally Caught Up

Despite nanny Bloomberg trying to be all politically correct, it turns out that the attempted car bomb in Times Square is the work of Islamic terrorists. It was not the work of a tea party person or another Tim McVeigh. It is the work of Islamic terrorists and this administration had better get it’s head screwed on straight or we will have a serious problem.

Attorney General Eric H. Holder Jr. announced early Tuesday that an arrest had been made in the failed Times Square car bombing, saying that Faisal Shahzad, a 30-year-old American, was taken into custody at John F. Kennedy International Airport as he tried to fly to Dubai on Monday night.

This administration better get its collective head out of its collective ass and pay attention that this is an Islamic attack. The last time an administration decided to treat this as a law enforcement action, we ended up with Sept 11. This administrations pathetic pandering and kowtowing to foreigners has done nothing but shown the world he is weak.

In the real world, not the world of the community organizer, weakness is bad. The bullies of the world prey on the weak and no amount of dialogue will change that. This president better wake up and realize that, before his policies cause the bullies of the world to do something really bad. Power abhors a vacuum. And a weak American president is a huge vacuum that is begging to be filled by something. Let us hope it’s not more carnage cause by the bullies of the world, emboldened by a weak president.

SEC staffers watched porn as economy crashed

How appropriate. Our magnificently paid overseers of the financial world diddled while Rome burned. Oh my, the jokes almost write themselves.

On a day when President Obama argued for more government regulation over the financial industry, a new government report reveals that some high-level regulators have spent more time looking at porn than policing Wall Street.

And yet the chattering skulls still don’t understand why the general public has such a dislike of government and hold it in such disregard. But hey, wait until the heath care reform kicks in, I can only imagine the graft and waste that we shall see.

One senior attorney at SEC headquarters in Washington spent up to eight hours a day accessing Internet porn. When he filled all the space on his government computer with pornographic images, he downloaded more to CDs and DVDs that accumulated in boxes in his offices.

But lest you believe the federal government only hires male perverts, we have this tale.

An SEC accountant attempted to access porn websites 1,800 times in a two-week period and had 600 pornographic images on her computer hard drive.

So there’s 8 hours, I know I’m being generous, in a standard business work day. There are 5 work days in a week and this occurred over two weeks for a total of 80 hours in the two weeks. So we take the 80 hours and divide that by the total number of attempted access and we find out our highly paid watchdog was trying to access porn 22.5 times per HOUR.

Seventeen of the offenders were senior SEC officers with salaries ranging from $100,000 to $222,000 per year.

Dear HRH The Sun King, I know where you can start looking for government waste…

The sad thing is that these bastards don’t even understand why this is wrong. In the real world they would have been fired. Or sued. Or both if they were really lucky. Instead I get to pay for their sorry asses. It’s bad enough they’re surfing the web basically all day. But they’re not even doing anything good like FB or shopping. It’s all porn.

Maybe that’s why the SEC just sued Goldman?

The Legacy Media Shows It’s Yellow Stripe

You haven’t seen this picture because the legacy media is full of cowards.

There was a protest that involved active duty servicemen chaining themselves to the fence in front of the White House. The media was there to cover the even. But since HRH The Sun King was heckled the other night for his lack of policy movement on DADT, and he has a notoriously thin skin, the authorities in DC decided that it was much better to remove the media from covering the event and trying to squash any coverage of the event.

If you don’t believe me, you can see the shameful media backing up like the craven cowards they are.

You’d think the media, the supposed defenders of the first amendment, would be up in arms that their guys police apparatus actually stopped them from covering a protest. Oh wait, that’s right. HRH The Sun King is their guy, that’s why they are the craven cowards that they are and did nothing. No, they didn’t do nothing. They did what the authorities told them to do and backed up, like the cowards they are.

Where’s the bravery? Where’s the journalistic impulse to ask the police, why are you closing a public park? I’d go on but since the “journalists” have proven themselves to be such cowards it’s not even worth my time. If all you sucks up in the legacy media want to know why people think journalists are such shits, maybe you should actually look at your behavior. Of course that would require you actually doing something other than toadying up to HRH The Sun King and would require you to actually think about what you’re doing so I know that will never happen. Chumps.

Shouldn’t He Be Given A Treasury Position?

One of the first people to plead guilty to not paying taxes because they were hiding money in Switzerland is awaiting sentencing.

Paul Zabczuk pleaded guilty in federal court to filing a false tax return related to hundreds of thousands of dollars held in UBS accounts, and he could face up to three years in prison, the Justice Department said.

Shouldn’t he actually be given a position in HRH The Sun King’s administration? I mean, with all the other folks hired by HRH The Sun King having tax issues, I’m talking about you Timmeh, he should fit right in, right? Or maybe he can get a job with Charlie Rangel, who also doesn’t seem to pay his taxes.

On a serious note, how do you expect the plebians to pay their taxes when those in positions of power do not pay their taxes and abuse the system? And for this reason, those people that are in positions of power should be held to a higher standard and not a lower standard. It sets up this country for a nasty case of entitlement for the political class to do whatever they want because, you know, we’re in charge and you’re not.

Yet Another Bow To The Communists

Look, I get it, he’s a cuckold. He’s not his own man. Dammit, if this bowing thing doesn’t piss you off as an American, then I don’t know what will. The whole friggin point of the revolution was to be our own country and our own people and to not bow down before anyone.

It really is dispicable.

And if you really don’t think he’s bowing, here’s the video to prove that yet again, the cuckold of America, bows down before others.

And to think he did this while in this country. Ok, I could maybe, almost, sort of see, doing the when in Rome thing. But this is in DC. If there is anyplace that people should be bowing before you, it’s in your own country. Weak. A horrible yet predictable thing that will only encourage those that wish to do us harm in the world.

And Now It Starts

As if we weren’t all waiting for this other shoe to drop. The trial balloon has official been raised.

The United States should consider raising taxes to help bring deficits under control and may need to consider a European-style value-added tax, White House adviser Paul Volcker said on Tuesday.

Volcker, answering a question from the audience at a New York Historical Society event, said the value-added tax “was not as toxic an idea” as it has been in the past and also said a carbon or other energy-related tax may become necessary.

Though he acknowledged that both were still unpopular ideas, he said getting entitlement costs and the U.S. budget deficit under control may require such moves. “If at the end of the day we need to raise taxes, we should raise taxes,” he said.

I hate to quote the entirety of a news article but that was it. Which is why I am certain this is a trial balloon. Time to see how far we can radically remake America in the leftist manner.

The thing that I feel the worst is that Paul Volcker doesn’t even know that’s he’s being used. And he’ll be discarded like a used, well, you know, if they need to do so. He did such a great job at the end of the Carter era, it’s so sad to see him repeat history.

If you folks thought the health care bill was bad, wait till the drunken sailors masquerading as congress will do with real extra billions in cash. These reprehensible solons can’t be responsible with the deficit spending they’ve already done. Now we want to give them even more money?

You want to get entitlement spending under control, cut the spending. There’s two ways for everyone who is not a government, to deal with their spending. They can either increase income or reduce expenses. The pathetic excuse for the political weenies in Washington haven’t even thought about reducing expenses.

As it’s obvious they won’t reduce expenses. We the people will have to do it for them. The first way to cut the expenses in Washington is to vote out of office those bums and put new ones in with a really tight leash. And yes, I do mean leash. If they won’t heal to the voters, vote the new guys out too.

Yes, maybe it is time to remake America. And we’ll first start with the political class. I think it’s time they get to see the exercise of political power by those in flyover country by losing their jobs.

The IRS Speaks Out On Healthcare

Can I just say that phrase, speaks out, is one of those phrases that every “reporter” and news reader should be forced to never ever use. It is one of the most obnoxious and overused phrases. But I digress…

You knew it was only a matter of time before the IRS was going to say something. Now we have some sort of semi-official response to the most Rube Goldberg like legislation this country has ever seen.

Speaking at the National Press Club on Monday, Shulman downplayed the IRS’s role in enforcing the recent overhaul of the health insurance industry by claiming the agency would not aggressively target individuals who don’t purchase coverage. He noted that the health-care bill expressly forbids the agency from freezing bank accounts, seizing assets or pursuing criminal charges, but when pressed said the IRS would most likely use tax refund offsets to penalize those that don’t comply with the mandate. The IRS uses refund offsets to collect from individuals that owe the federal government a delinquent debt.

“These are not the kinds of things we send agents out about,” Shulman said. “These are things where you get a letter from us. Congress was very careful to make sure there was nothing too punitive in this bill.”

Oh man does the IRS have a sense of humor.

And they lie.

While they may say that publicly, I believe Megan McArdle hits the nail right on the head with her theory of what the IRS will actually do.

If the IRS can reorder the priority of the tax dollars they take from you, then they can simply put any funds towards the mandate first. That way, if you attempt to go without insurance and then pay the IRS everything except the mandate penalty, you’ll end up with a tax liability the exact size of the mandate penalty . . . for which they can now garnish your wages, put tax liens on your house, and otherwise do all the nasty stuff that they are authorized to do under Subtitle F.

That’s about what I would expect. You will not be able to evade this tax. They may say now that it’s not a high priority or they won’t do this, but once the billions don’t show up, you know the IRS enforcement will start to ratchet up.
