Despite nanny Bloomberg trying to be all politically correct, it turns out that the attempted car bomb in Times Square is the work of Islamic terrorists. It was not the work of a tea party person or another Tim McVeigh. It is the work of Islamic terrorists and this administration had better get it’s head screwed on straight or we will have a serious problem.

Attorney General Eric H. Holder Jr. announced early Tuesday that an arrest had been made in the failed Times Square car bombing, saying that Faisal Shahzad, a 30-year-old American, was taken into custody at John F. Kennedy International Airport as he tried to fly to Dubai on Monday night.

This administration better get its collective head out of its collective ass and pay attention that this is an Islamic attack. The last time an administration decided to treat this as a law enforcement action, we ended up with Sept 11. This administrations pathetic pandering and kowtowing to foreigners has done nothing but shown the world he is weak.

In the real world, not the world of the community organizer, weakness is bad. The bullies of the world prey on the weak and no amount of dialogue will change that. This president better wake up and realize that, before his policies cause the bullies of the world to do something really bad. Power abhors a vacuum. And a weak American president is a huge vacuum that is begging to be filled by something. Let us hope it’s not more carnage cause by the bullies of the world, emboldened by a weak president.

We were told repeatedly ad nasueum, that the world would really start to love us if we would only drop that stiff, W.

Not so much.

Turkey’s foreign minister is warning of a breakdown in ties with the U.S. after a congressional committee approved a resolution branding the World War I-era killing of Armenians genocide.

And it’s a Muslim country to boot. I seriously thought and was told that Barack Hussein Obama would make us loved throughout the world with his election. As Insty says, who are the rubes anyway?

This is really kinda funny.

The following Senate Committee on Environment and Public Works hearings have been postponed due to inclement weather this week:

- The Senate Committee on Environment and Public Works, Subcommittee on Water and Wildlife, will hold a hearing entitled, “Collaborative Solutions to Wildlife and Habitat Management.”

- The Senate Committee on Environment and Public Works will hold a hearing entitled, “Global Warming Impacts, Including Public Health, in the United States.”

Yes a hearing on how global warming will impact people has been postponed due to too much snow. Now that’s irony.

And yes, I realize there is a large difference between climate and weather.

Just like I’d like to think the meteorologists out there would realize there’s a large difference in the words normal and average. I mean, they’re supposed to be science based folks, they should stick to using average and not normal as normal has no scientific meaning. But that’s just me.

I’m sure everyone knows this by now but Scott Brown has won election to the US Senate as a republican in the People’s Republic. I believe that pigs now fly and it is hockey season in hell.

But seriously folks, this turns any and all conventional wisdom about the upcoming elections completely off.

If you’re an elected democrat who’s a blue dog dem or in a centrist or god forbid republican leaning disctrict, you had better get the fear of god in you because things are now different for you.

I believe Moe Lane about sums it up.

nobody is going to be able to save you. If the President, the DSCC, the DCCC, the DNC, the SEIU, ACORN, and the netroots couldn’t manage a win in Massachusetts… what do you think that they can do for you?

Ahh yes, it’s so nice to see that we were told by HRH The Sun King that the “Cash for Clunkers” would so help out the economy that it was a hugely brilliant plan despite the incompetence and ineptitude of its implementation.

After trashing Edmunds.com, you know, the car website, as people that don’t know anything about cars, HRH The Sun King’s people absolutely knew that this Clunker thing was going to go gangbusters.

“We found out that motor vehicle output added 1.7% to economic growth in the third quarter — the largest contribution to quarterly growth in over a decade.”

I hate to say it and sound like a broken record but, yet again the numbers were wrong. Not only were they off by more than a little bit, they were off by almost 50%.

on the back of autos contributing 0.81 point to growth. That was a direct result of the August “Cash for Clunkers” program that subsidized new auto purchases.

What truly galls me is that these morons can’t calculate something simple like a trade in program for cars, and yet somehow magically they’re all of a sudden going to be able to get things right on health care? I’m supposed to trust my health and well being to idiots that couldn’t calculate how selling cars affects the national economy?

The 2010 elections can’t get here quick enough.

Oh and don’t forget, they owned two thirds of the American car manufacturers and still couldn’t get their numbers right. How pathetic is that?

This is absolutely shameful.

President Barack Obama has decided to scrap plans for a U.S. missile defense shield in the Czech Republic and Poland that had deeply angered Russia, the Czech prime minister confirmed Thursday.

How does this action help America’s standing in the world? You cave in to the Russians at the expense of allies. And if there are any other allies, ie Israel, that are watching, they know now you are willing to throw them under the bus for some thing down the road from the Russians.

This is nothing but peacenik stupidity and naivete. This is about as bad Jimmuh back in the 70′s. Seriously, could you show that America was any more weak with this move? And supposedly democrats about real politik? Well what the hell is this going to say. It says, if we want something from the Russians, we’re willing to sacrifice our allies.

Absolutely disgusting. We are less safe because of this stupidity. This will do more damage to our “standing” in the world at large than anything George Bush ever did.

So his Majesty, HRH The Sun King made a big big deal out of lobbyists and how he was going to stop the revolving door and not hire a single one. Well that worked out about as well as having a tax cheat run the governments money. Er, I digress.

There was a big fuss and hullabaloo about how lobbyists were going to have to put their ideas in writing and have it posted, like all those bills he was going to post for 5 days before signing but which never happened.

All those lobbyists have finally spent enough cash to pay off the right people. They have now been let loose upon your and my tax dollars.

In a significant change, the Obama administration will now allow lobbyists to meet and have telephonic discussions with government officials regarding economic recovery projects.

Of course back when he still had positive views by the great people of this country, HRH The Sun King proposed all sorts of draconian measures when it came to lobbyists vacuuming up my tax dollars for their and not my benefit.

In March, President Obama announced that government officials would not be allowed to consider the views of lobbyists regarding specific stimulus projects unless the requests are put in writing. The materials also had to be posted on an agency’s website within three business days of receipt. Lobbyists have said that the policy was one more example of the administration’s disdain for their industry.

I guess there wasn’t as much disdain for lobbyists as it seemed. You might say it was all a charade. Either that or the lobbyists hadn’t ponied up enough cash to the correct Mandarins in DC. Ya know, I’m torn as to which it could be…

So as that one and famous group said, Meet the new boss. Same as the old boss. No hope and change here suckers. Just more of the same.

Could be. The way things are going, I wouldn’t be surprised.

At this point in history, the less the Treasury Department can do, the better off you and I really are. And it’s stories like this that make me realize how badly things are run, but hopeful that the institutional incompetence will keep things nice and slow.

Seven weeks after the Treasury Department announced that it was ousting General Motors chief G. Richard Wagoner Jr. in the federal bailout of the company, he is still technically on GM’s payroll.

Wagoner’s removal has been held up because senior Treasury officials have yet to decide whether he should get the $20 million severance package that the company had promised him.

Well, only seven weeks to decide whether one person should be fired or not. I’m so glad the government is going to be in charge of the hundreds of thousands of people on the new Government Motors payroll. I can only imagine what the HR horror will look like in another couple of months.

But now, even minor matters, such as Web site design or news releases, are reviewed by the White House. Staff members detailed from the National Economic Council, reporting directly to Obama senior economist Lawrence H. Summers, roam the Treasury building. Treasury staff members working on restructuring the nation’s automakers took much of their direction from the NEC, sources said.

As I said, this is incompetence. Of course after the poor and incompetent job Tax Cheat Timmy did as the head of the NY Fed, I’m not surprised that he’s just as incompetent as the head of the Treasury. Another thing this story points out is that HRH The Sun King will be solely to blame if this does turn in to the next depression. This story says quite clearly, in matters large and small, the presidents men are in charge. If things go well, remember, it’s the presidents men that did this.

You would think, if you’re a political party, that you would want to hold fundraisers with people that, you know, support your party. Not if you’re a national fatcat republican operative.

Bruce Springsteen campaigned aggressively for the past two Democratic presidential candidates, but that didn’t stop Republicans from joining Democrats in cashing in on the Boss’ Monday night concert in Washington.

At least 15 lawmakers and political committees — including a half-dozen Republican ones — sold tickets to fundraisers at the sold-out concert at the Verizon Center.

Talk about abandoning your principles for cash. You buy tickets from a political operative musician, who has repeatedly gone after your party and you see nothing wrong with trying to raise money off an outspoken opponent.

I guess it does take a bit of chutzpah to try and do that. Unfortunately based upon the way these national fatcat operatives work, it’s only and literally about the money and nothing more. Which is what makes this so damned transparent and pathetic.
