Speaking Of The 70′s…
I read about the following bon mot from Chrissy Tingles.
CHRIS MATTHEWS: “Will the Democrats running for the House re-election, they’re all running for re-election under the Constitution and the Senate candidates, will they run away from President O’Carter? I mean, will they run away.”
Hmmm… Speaking of Jimmuh Carter.

Use The Laws You Already Have
So there’s obviously a problem in the Gulf. Neither the government nor BP has exactly showered themselves in competence. The governments job was to think of these problems ahead of time and ask all drilling companies how they would fix the issue. Obviously the government did not do its job. Hey, it’s the government, when have they ever been competent at doing anything? As for BP, they too are being idiots on this. In their case, they are getting punished in the market. That’s how it’s supposed to be. If they actually get this thing under control, they may recover. If not, hello bankruptcy court.
And how are the government agencies being punished for their incompetence?
“This is one of those 9/11 opportunities where you can rally the country to move in a different direction,” said Lisa Margonelli, energy director of the center-left New America Foundation in Oakland.
Ahh yes that’s the ticket. Instead of reviewing what went wrong, lets push for more government action. Let’s see. The existing government agencies are incompetent. So let’s create more government agencies. How do these morons live every day? Seriously. We see case after case of government incompetence and yet their first thought is, lets have more government.
Doubling down on incompetency is not going to make things better. You have the tools available right now. Killing the economy for your own pet peeves like cap and trade is not going to fix this oil spill. Stop using a crisis, which you created, to go ahead and continue on your radical remake of America. If you had actually shown that any of your government answers worked, you may have a case. Instead, day after day we see that old truism, government is not the solution, government is the problem. That you can’t see that shows your blindness to the real world.
Of Course Politics Didn’t Play A Role
Oh come on! Is there anyone on this planet that doesn’t realize that she was granted asylum because of her nephew?
A jubilant Zeituni Onyango celebrated in South Boston today after learning a U.S. immigration court granted her asylum – a decision her neighbors speculated was probably helped by her nephew, President Obama.
Probably? Give me a break.
Onyango moved to the United States in 2000. Her first asylum request was rejected, and she was ordered deported in 2004. But she didn’t leave the country and continued to live in Boston.
Onyango’s status as an illegal immigrant was revealed just days before Obama was elected in November 2008.
She was supposed to be deported. And the immigration judge sucked up to the president for his own reasons. Don’t be surprised when you hear the immigration judge was granted a promotion.
Wow, It Really Was An Islamic Terrorist
So the administration finally admits the obvious. Contrary to Nanny Bloomberg, this was the work of an Islamic terrorist with complete funding and help by an Islamic terrorist group in Pakistan.
Top Obama administration officials jettisoned the theory that the Times Square terror suspect acted alone on Sunday, revealing that the Taliban in Pakistan — known as Tehrik-e-Taliban Pakistan — hatched and bankrolled the failed plot.
Eric Holder, making his first Sunday shows appearance as Attorney General, told ABC’s Jake Tapper on “This Week” that investigators have “now developed evidence that show that the Pakistani Taliban was behind” last weekend’s attempted bombing of Times Square.
“We know that they helped facilitate it,” Holder said. “We know that they helped finance it, and that he [suspected bomber Faisal Shahzad] was working at their direction.”
Wow. Shocked. No really. I’m shocked that the administration actually had to admit that an Islamic Terrorist propagated this attack. Now if they’ll only admit the same of the other attacks…
The bigger problem is that they refuse to see the elephant in the room and act accordingly because it’s obvious that this administration would rather be liked than do the right thing. It’s pretty much the Stuart Smalley administration.
And to prove the point, here’s what the chief law enforcement officer had to say about terrorists.
Holder also said for the first time that the administration is open to modifying the Miranda rules that protect criminal suspects in custody, and will work with Congress to revise its public safety exemption, which allows for delaying the warnings in the event a suspect has knowledge of an immediate danger to the public, to adapt to an age of terrorism.
“The [Miranda] system we have in place has proven to be effective,” said Holder, who has drawn criticism for administering the self-incrimination warning to Shahzad, a recently naturalized American.
“I think we also want to look and determine whether we have the necessary flexibility — whether we have a system that deals with situations that agents now confront. … We’re now dealing with international terrorism,” Holder said.
“I think we have to give serious consideration to at least modifying that public-safety exception [to the Miranda requirements]. And that’s one of the things that I think we’re going to be reaching out to Congress… to come up with a proposal that is both constitutional, but that is also relevant to our times and the threats that we now face.”
I suppose the obvious thing, instead of chipping away at my contitutional rights, you could conclude that we’re dealing with someone who has declared war against the US and should approach things from a military standpoint. After all, the Islamic terrorist groups have repeatedly stated, they are at war with the US. Maybe the US should, you know, take them at their face value, and act appropriately instead of ruining the rights of US citizens.
Yes I know that is really too simple a plan and would require the world view of this administration to change and admit that no, they don’t like us and no amount of talking will make them like us. They want us dead or subjugated to the will of Allah. And the quicker this Stuart Smalley administration figures this out, the sooner we won’t have to deal with dead Americans because of the incompetence of this administration.
More Security Theater Of The Absurd
I’ve said before, the charade that is known as airport security, is nothing more than security theater. It is not designed to do anything but allow the government to pretend we’re “doing” something about security. And if you want a real example of why it is security theater, the latest Islamic terrorist shows exactly why airport security is a joke and a fraud.
As federal agents closed in, Faisal Shahzad was aboard Emirates Flight 202. He reserved a ticket on the way to John F. Kennedy International Airport, paid cash on arrival and walked through security without being stopped. By the time Customs and Border Protection officials spotted Shahzad’s name on the passenger list and recognized him as the bombing suspect they were looking for, he was in his seat and the plane was preparing to leave the gate.
Now I’ve read over and over again that, buying a ticket with cash on short notice is supposedly a good way to get extra screening at the airport. I guess in this case, it shows that only white three year olds get the extra security. On a big level, doesn’t this really prove that airport security is nonexistant?
This guy was on the damned no fly list. He had all the indicators that should have had the screeners giving him a rectal exam but he wasn’t even touched. No one gave him a second look and he was on the tarmac ready to go to Dubai.
Yet again, this has proven airport security does not work. The policy and procedures that were supposed to be followed weren’t. And the general public is being harassed when those that are supposed to be screened aren’t. Stop the charade. Airport security does not work and will not work. Please stop already. It does not work and we need to stop it and think of a better way instead of making flying a miserable experience. Yes that would require someone from the FAA and congress to admit they are wrong, which means it’ll be a cold day in hell before that happens.
The Islamic Terrorists Have Finally Caught Up
Despite nanny Bloomberg trying to be all politically correct, it turns out that the attempted car bomb in Times Square is the work of Islamic terrorists. It was not the work of a tea party person or another Tim McVeigh. It is the work of Islamic terrorists and this administration had better get it’s head screwed on straight or we will have a serious problem.
Attorney General Eric H. Holder Jr. announced early Tuesday that an arrest had been made in the failed Times Square car bombing, saying that Faisal Shahzad, a 30-year-old American, was taken into custody at John F. Kennedy International Airport as he tried to fly to Dubai on Monday night.
This administration better get its collective head out of its collective ass and pay attention that this is an Islamic attack. The last time an administration decided to treat this as a law enforcement action, we ended up with Sept 11. This administrations pathetic pandering and kowtowing to foreigners has done nothing but shown the world he is weak.
In the real world, not the world of the community organizer, weakness is bad. The bullies of the world prey on the weak and no amount of dialogue will change that. This president better wake up and realize that, before his policies cause the bullies of the world to do something really bad. Power abhors a vacuum. And a weak American president is a huge vacuum that is begging to be filled by something. Let us hope it’s not more carnage cause by the bullies of the world, emboldened by a weak president.
Government (In)Competence?
Let me get this straight, the feds, thru health care reform alone, are some how going to be able to root out fraud and work to control costs and creating new health insurance plans and do so in a competent manner.
But, they can’t create a system to do something simple like count people in the census?
A computer system that the Census Bureau needs to manage its door-to-door count of the U.S. population remained buggy and prone to crash a day before enumerators were set to begin their work, government officials said Friday.
The bureau’s Paper Based Operations Control System did not function reliably in tests and, despite hardware and software upgrades, “may not be able to perform as needed under full operational loads,” the U.S. Government Accountability Office said in a report.
Mind you, they’ve already wasted $700 million dollars on a hand held system before realizing it was a complete waste.
I guess, I have a hard time understanding how it’s difficult to design a system that holds the info from the census and then tabulates it. We’re literally talking, a database and an input system. Create a web interface and all the census takers can do the work back at the office.
And yet, they Census Bureau couldn’t design a system to count people. But, they’re going to be able to make health care reform work? Every day reinforces my belief that, the government isn’t the solution, but the problem.
About That Deficit
So, Peter Orszag, HRH The Sun Kings economics guesser in chief tells us we must rein in the spending.
President Barack Obama’s top budget adviser, Peter Orszag, said on Tuesday that the U.S. government must significantly alter its policies in order to tackle a growing mountain of debt.
Dear Peter,
I know where you can cut at least a trillion dollars in new spending over the next 10 years.
Love,
The American People
PS, If you need some more ideas where to cut spending, I’ve got a lot of them. Not that you’d listen to me…
The Dignity Of The Senate My Ass…
Next time some idiot tries to claim congress is some noble place, just remember this video. This is a Senate hearing where people were sworn in to testify and will be part of the Congressional record.
Senator Levin, showing the world that he knows how to be a potty mouth.
