Why is the Obama administration failing on so many fronts?
Israel? Korea? China? Brazil? Turkey? England? Afghanistan? Australia? Oil Spill? Canada? Immigration? Arizona? Stock Market? Everywhere you turn it seems Obama is failing again and again? Why?
It seems to me that the filthy secret is this: Liberalism is a failed and flawed philosophy. So many people say it, but it seems the point of that is missed in a more general way. Incompetence IS part of it, but it’s really not all of it. Obama’s administration is doing most of what they want most of the time, and yet everywhere things get worse and worse.
Our image is spiraling downward on all fronts, diplomatically, militarily and economically, and there is a simple reason — they are wrong. They make a few basic assumptions about the nature of man — freedom — government and governance that are all completely wrong. It’s really that simple.
They assume man is too stupid or incompetent to take care of himself.
They assume security is more important than liberty.
They believe government is the solution to all problems big and small.
They assume they have the right to govern with an iron fist because they believe their mandate is that overwhelming.
These assumptions and beliefs ensure their failure. If they trusted their citizens, if they protected liberty of the individual over the sensibilities of their group-constituents – if they ruled in a limited way slowly pushing toward their (ridiculous) goals of ‘fairness’ they’d have a lot more success.
In some ways, we’re lucky they’re stupid. The alacrity of their failure might allow (i stress the might) us to do an about face and save ourselves from imminent destruction. I admit, the damage their doing might be irreversible, but at least their incompetence and blindness to the fact of their philosophical deficiency gives America a fighting chance to claw back to freedom.
Ignorance of the Law is No Defense?
Please, someone, ANYONE, somewhere… Explain this to me
The former Republic of the United States of America proclaims as a basis of it’s theoretical constitutional law that ignorance of the law is no defense. A citizen is expected to be able to reasonably divine what is legal and what is not.
How?
What kind of God-Like creature would have any chance of fathoming the ludicrous laws of that bizarre and foolish nation?
What kind of near-omniscient being could be expected to know and follow even the tax law? More than 67000 pages of laws and 2.5 million pages of documentation explaining the laws? What of the EPA regulations? The DHS? The SSA? To call the number of pages of code staggering is a pathetic understatement.
At this point, the Former Republic of the United States of America seems to have a will of its own to be an authoritarian regime hell-bent on the destruction of liberty… not because of evil people, but because it is completely and utterly out of control.
The moronic regime of of Obambiciles in Washington BELIEVES they have a grasp of the monster. But really, it’s a farcical image of a dog catching a city bus. Yes, they have the bus in their teeth, but do they really control where it’s going?
That formerly great nation needs to purge MILLIONS of pages of law and case law and start back to the founding document. Of course, that isn’t going to happen — at least not without a revolution.
At this point, countless people are in jail or financial ruin for stupid laws no reasonable person could have ever imagined. How is that not Tyranny?
Please, someone explain how THIS is a free country?
Of course it’s not. At least Canada and China don’t pretend to be free. No only are we un-free, we’re lying sacks of Obama Feces.
The Hubris Of Government Is The Problem
Devauled Patrick is cooking the books for jobs “saved” like all the other politicians.
Gov. Deval Patrick’s economic-stimulus program is looking more like a Save-A-Hack telethon with a federal cash infusion going mostly to save jobs on the government payroll.
With pink slips flying in the private sector and the state unemployment rate at 9.4 percent, a Herald review has found that more than 70 percent of jobs “created or retained” by state stimulus spending last quarter were government jobs.
And the vast majority of those jobs were not newly created – the stimulus money was either used just to keep government workers on the job or to increase their hours.
And this is the biggest issue with the “stimulus” package. It was and has proven to literally be nothing more than a payoff to HRH The Sun King’s supporters. You will not find a single private sector job “saved” by the federales. Hell, they don’t even like the dreaded private sector and don’t understand it.
Alethea Pieters, a spokeswoman for Patrick’s economic stimulus office, said yesterday that public sector jobs are “as important, if not more important” than private sector jobs because of the “critical services” some of them provide
Hey Alethea, let me clue you in on something. If there no private sector jobs, then you would never in a million years get your six figure public sector job. I’m so glad that I don’t live in the People’s Republic because it is obvious that the hacks in charge of the government care for themselves and themselves only.
Jeffrey Simon, Patrick’s stimulus czar, said the administration is “proud of the fact” that it has saved public-sector jobs.
And until these bums are voted out of office repeatedly and this attitude changes, the people of the People’s Republic will continue on their path of slavery.
Conservatives would be wise to remember Sparta
In the end, the Verucacrats (aka Democrats) are going to get what they want, and we are going to pay. There really just aren’t enough votes to block it, and I believe the damage of doing nothing will be too great. So, some how, they’re going to push their agenda through, whether by reconciliation or not.
But there is hope for conservatives.
Though this battle might be completely lost, barring a miraculous Leonide’s shot with a thundering spear through the head of Obama’s administration, the war can be won here and now by standing firm on the principles of freedom.
“Remember us.” As simple an order as a king can give. “Remember why we died.” For he did not wish tribute, nor song, nor monuments nor poems of war and valor. His wish was simple. “Remember us,” he said to me. That was his hope, should any free soul come across that place, in all the countless centuries yet to be. May all our voices whisper to you from the ageless stones, “Go tell the Spartans, passerby, that here by Spartan law, we lie.”
The 300 Spartans are remembered thousands of years later, not for victory, but for courage and principle that won out by the inspiration they gave with their bravery. Perhaps, conservatives will be able to say after the loss, that their point was made. Though vastly outnumbered, they were remembered. They were heard. Their voices were strong and their cause just.
A new age has begun, an age of freedom. And all will know that 300 Spartans gave their last breath to defend it.
It seems to me, that even in loss, the conservative movement can win by being true, and hard, and strong.
America needs a new age of Freedom, and Emanuel is right – no crisis should go to waste. Though we didn’t create this crisis, though we didn’t want it, the liberalism has forsaken liberty and it is an opportunity to remind the citizens what that means.
Freedom is not free, the cost is blood. Conservatives have the chance to show that their courage and principles can bond us together, that we can be stronger by these actions, and that these choices today can reflect the bravery and sacrifice it takes for freemen to be free. Losing this battle is far less important than losing the point.
It seems to me we forget. We forget not only the 300 Spartans, but the 3million men and women who have given their lives under our banner. That banner that so many forget is not made of woven thread, but instead the fabric of our ideals. A nation is not the land, a nation is the values, the principles and the customs that make us one people. When conservatives conserve those things that unify us and make us all more free, then they are unbeatable.
So, conservatives must remember that freedom is more valuable than life, that we rally beneath a banner of honor and blood, of truth and justice. As Conservatives we must rally the people to the absolute right to be who we choose, where we choose, what we choose – without any entitlement to success, or station, or property.
If we do not strip down these notions of liberty to their essence, and continue to allow liberals to define the playing field in base Marxist notions of relativism and fairness, then this loss WILL destroy this society.
So, Conservatives, Remember Sparta.
Odd Truth About War
It is an odd thing, that the wars America has fought have given her such peace and stability that many of her citizens can spit upon her.
I hear those angry unctuous many who say there is never a cause for war – nothing is worth preserving if the price is war – they believe fervently in peace. Which is interesting to me, because so do soldiers.
These people though, they do not seem to understand that there are worse alternatives than war. Living under a tyrant. Giving up freedoms for security. Giving up dreams and hopes and aspirations do and be and want more.
I watch them, covered in the blood of the soldiers who laid down their lives to preserve these freedoms, feigning gratitude whilst spitting upon the very ideals and notions which give them the place and time and ability to to spew their naive little ideas on the nature of peace.
The New Nation: The Alaskan Free State
I think it is time for all the pretty states to secede from the union, but most of all Alaska seems like it should flee.
I don’t mean that humorously. What benefit do the citizens of Alaska get? I don’t know that they’d be able to support the military they need to fend off Russia, but I do know this, Russia might be the lesser threat to their freedom at this point.
I’m not convinced any more that Russia is less free than the US. Maybe it is? But, it seems to me, that it’s debateable.
Alaska is going to backrupt itself paying taxes to support the rest of the union, and give away it’s precious resources for scant little to show for it.
Texas Governor Rick Perry mentioned the possibility in passing, but I begin to wonder if all states should consider the benefits of this so-called union. Now it seems more like a trap of fascists to steal from independent liberty loving people who work hard and do their best to live an honorable good life.
One has to wonder how fair it is to steal from a rancher in Montana to give to a welfare mom in the Bronx.
