Since he’s managing things IRL so well, why not?

A new bill would let BO police the Internet for “Nation Security Reasons.” And why not? I mean, he’s done such a stellar job at everything else. It’s about time he got his golden fingers shoved into the works of the web. Before we know it, we’ll ALL be singing the praises of his highness. Whether we like it or not.

True Danger – “Homeland Security” by Committee

This is frightening.  Really, really frightening.

Two days ago, The Deceiver in Chief signed an Executive Order establishing a “Council of Governors.” Did you hear about that?  No?  Me neither until about an hour ago.  I saw the order on whitehouse.gov, read it, and then googled for details.  Looks like the most detailed coverage of this isn’t even from this country.  The Canada Free Press points out how underhanded this is, making a point to remind us all that this is the administration that campaigned on transparency.

The White House says that this is intended to help the state & federal governments work more closely in times of emergency.  It’s a gift to “Homeland Security.”

Now the scary details, courtesy of enewspf.com:

The bipartisan Council will be composed of ten State Governors who will be selected by the President to serve two year terms.  In selecting the Governors to the Council, the White House will solicit input from Governors and Governors’ associations.  Once chosen, the Council will have no more than five members from the same party and represent the Nation as a whole.

That’s right, folks, now in our times of crisis, we don’t have to depend on the President’s leadership.  No, we a committee of 10, hand-picked by the president to assuage our fears.  It’s supposed to be a consolation that “no more than five members from the same party” will be on the council at any given time.  But really, how different are the Democrats from the Republicans in the grand scheme of things anymore?  A “progressive” red is just as dangerous as (if not more so than) a “conservative” blue. So these appointed 10, in the hands of the wrong person *cough cough BO cough*, is really, at best, just a team of cheerleaders and parrots that will delay any emergency response.

But that’s at best.

We have nothing to fear but fear itself…

At some point, we must ask ourselves, is this the people we wish to be? Do we wish to cower in fear? Do we wish to allow the dangers of the world to dictate who we are and who we choose to become?

A flu pandemic is a frightening thing, and it is wise to take precautions and built up vaccines, and practice good hygiene, but at some point we must accept the risk. There are no guarantees and living in fear is cowardly and beneath us.

Oh wait, no it’s not.

University Of Illinois At Chicago Bans Graduation Handshakes As H1N1 Precaution

Chicago, IL (AHN) – Congratulatory handshakes, a tradition at most graduation ceremonies, might be the latest casualty of the H1N1 flu virus. The University of Illinois at Chicago took the first step during Wednesday night’s graduation of the Honors College-one of the school’s most challenging programs. There, during the graduation ceremonies the student’s received the usual diplomas without the customary handshake that traditionally accompanies it.

America is dead.

AM3RIKA – the 4th Reich & Der Feurer

Townhall:

President Barack Obama left the door open Tuesday to prosecuting Bush administration officials who devised the legal authority for gruesome terror-suspect interrogations, saying the United States lost “our moral bearings” with use of the tactics.

(foxnews and CNN both have the same story – verbatim)

The implications of this are (in no particular order)

  1. Chilling
  2. Dangerous
  3. Ignorant
  4. Evil
  5. Fascist

I Guess We Didn’t Need Those Rights After All

So, they passed it.

But what’s this?

The Bill would forbid any student in the brigade to participate in “engaging in religious instruction, conducting worship services, providing instruction as part of a program that includes mandatory religious instruction or worship, constructing or operating facilities devoted to religious instruction or worship, maintaining facilities primarily or inherently devoted to religious instruction or worship, or engaging in any form of religious proselytization.” That means no church attendance or witnessing.

I guess they ‘forgot’ about the First Amendment:

Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.

Or maybe they are just ignoring the Bill of Rights as they have ignored the Constitution.

King George III, wait, no … King Barrack I…

barrack1_coronationWhat can I say to His Majesty Barrack Hussein Obama’s, first King of these Royal States of America’s, decree. It’s just amazing. I always wondered what it’d be like to live in a Monarchy. Wow.

Maybe my understanding of the history of America has missed something, but as far as I knew, the people had the power, not the President. A Sitting president has just demanded and received the resignation of a man from his livelihood, so that a company might receive the benefit of taxpayer funds.

Has this ever happened before? I don’t know, but I sure doubt it.

If GWB had done this the hew and cry would have been revolutionary. I would not have been surprised if people took to the streets and burned things.  Rightly so.

The hubris, the foolishness, the downright fascism of this is incredible.

What happens when you make too much? What happens when you collect unemployment? What rights will you give up? Will you be allowed to badmouth the administration? Will you be allowed to write endorsements of their opponents? Will you be able to give money to a political candidate?

Beware of this new emperor. He has already stolen from you all that made you free, and you didn’t even notice. We are all in mortal danger and we don’t even know it yet.

Can Obama youth be far behind? Can federal police be far from our doors?

Expanded Americorps, Not Just for Volunteers Anymore.

I just read a scary opinion piece about some proposed legislation that put me in mind of Hitler’s youth… judging from the comments, I’m not the only one…

To begin with, the legislation threatens the voluntary nature of Americorps by calling for consideration of “a workable, fair, and reasonable mandatory service requirement for all able young people.” It anticipates the possibility of requiring “all individuals in the United States” to perform such service – including elementary school students.

And the nightmare continues…

Scariest Story of the Day

This has to be the scariest story of the day to me, “U.S. bill seeks to rescue faltering newspapers.” This is of the sort of holy-crap story, that seems to get some attention but no where near the red-flag sort of terror alert it should

Anyone that has even an ounce of memory for what the U.S. was a few years ago, should realize how insanely dangerous this is, and what a break it is with our history of a FREE and INDEPENDENT press. In a sense, this is a backdoor takeover of the news outlets that a tyrant such as Obama has to love. He gets to look like a hero, rather than a tyrant, he’s saving them from themselves. Oh, sure, he won’t allow them to endorse anyone anymore, and they don’t really have freespeech, but they still get to collect ad money and pipe out his message to the idiot-masses.

Hot Air has it exactly right in their article about this, it is Orwellian — which I guess isn’t shocking as so much of the news these days is so topsy turvy.. . still, I’m freaked uot.
